1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Juno ("the Application"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Application.

2. Description of Service

Juno is a desktop application that provides an intelligent workspace combining web browsing, note-taking, task management, and AI-powered assistance. The AI features are powered by locally-running open-source models.

3. Privacy and Data

Choice of AI Processor. Juno lets you choose where your AI requests are processed. By default, processing happens locally on your device. You may instead choose Juno's AI Cloud or a third-party AI service as your AI processor. The provisions below regarding cloud processing apply only when you deliberately select one of those cloud options. If you do not select a cloud AI processor, Juno does not transmit your prompts, conversations, or in-app data to Juno's AI Cloud or to any third-party AI service.

Local Processing (Default): Your data is stored locally on your device, and AI processing happens on-device using open-source models (MLX or Ollama). No prompts or in-app data leave your device for AI processing.

Juno AI Cloud: If — and only if — you deliberately choose Juno's AI Cloud as your AI processor, prompts and associated data needed to fulfill your request are transmitted to Juno's AI Cloud servers. We make reasonable efforts to detect and prevent sensitive data from being transmitted. We do not store, cache, log, or otherwise retain your data on Juno's AI Cloud servers, and we do not use your data to train, fine-tune, or otherwise improve our models or services.

Third-Party AI Services: If — and only if — you deliberately choose a third-party AI service as your AI processor, your prompts and associated data will be transmitted to that provider and handled according to their terms. We make reasonable efforts to prevent sensitive data from being sent to third-party services, and we make all reasonable efforts to ensure that data we send on your behalf is not stored, cached, or used for training by those providers. However, we cannot guarantee or fully control the practices of third-party services, and you should review each provider's terms before selecting them.

Third-Party Websites: When you use the built-in browser to access websites, those websites may collect data according to their own privacy policies. Juno does not control third-party data collection.

4. AI Features and Third-Party Models

Juno uses open-source AI models for local inference. These models are subject to their respective licenses:

• Gemma models are subject to the Google Gemma Terms of Use
• Other models may have their own license terms which will be presented during installation

You are responsible for ensuring your use of AI-generated content complies with applicable laws and the model licenses.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Juno to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Generate harmful, illegal, or misleading content
• Attempt to circumvent security features
• Reverse engineer or modify the Application except as permitted by law

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. AI-generated content may contain errors and should be verified independently.

7. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APPLICATION.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
